Glenda started her career as a book editor in Sydney’s publishing industry in 1985. She initially worked in-house at Angus & Robertson Publishers (now HarperCollins) as assistant editor and then editor before establishing her freelance business, when her major clients were ABC Books, Random House and Allen & Unwin. She returned to work in-house as editor for New Holland, then as senior editor and managing editor for Simon & Schuster Australia. Recently she was the senior editor for GHR Press, managing the editorial and production processes.
As a freelance editor Glenda’s clients include HarperCollins, Pan Macmillan, Momentum, Random House, Allen & Unwin, Pantera Press, Harlequin Enterprises, WriteLight and writers who are developing their manuscripts. She is part of the Australian Society of Authors’ manuscript development service.
Glenda edits young adult and adult fiction, and non-fiction – memoir, cooking, parenting, lifestyle and Australian history. She also offers project management and proofreading services to publishers and self-publishers.
Glenda provides mentoring services to writers, including manuscript assessment and structural editing, to assist writers develop their manuscripts for submission to agents and publishers. Glenda also edits and polishes manuscripts for writers who are self-publishing into printed books or ebooks.
